USB to UART TTL FT232RL Serial Adapter Module (5V / 3.3V)

The USB to UART TTL FT232RL Module is a compact and reliable USB-to-serial converter based on the original FTDI FT232RL chip. It is designed for programming and serial communication with Arduino boards, microcontrollers, and other TTL-level devices.

This breakout board follows the standard FTDI cable pinout and is fully compatible with Arduino boards such as the Pro Mini, as well as other 5V Arduino-compatible boards. Unlike standard FTDI cables that use RTS, this board exposes the DTR pin, enabling automatic reset during sketch uploads. This allows programs to be uploaded without manually pressing the reset button.

The module features onboard TX and RX LEDs to visually indicate serial communication activity, making debugging easier. It also includes a jumper on the back that allows selection between 5V and 3.3V output levels for both power and I/O logic. The board ships in 5V mode by default but can be configured to 3.3V if required.

A built-in 500mA self-resetting fuse provides USB power protection for safe operation. The module connects via a Mini USB port and can be used for general USB-to-TTL serial communication, firmware downloading, and development work.

To interface with an Arduino Pro Mini, connect GND to GND, VCC to VCC, TX to RX, RX to TX, and DTR to the GRN pin.

This adapter is ideal for Arduino development, STC microcontroller programming, embedded system debugging, and general serial communication applications.
