• The ESP-01 ESP8266 Serial WiFi Wireless Transceiver Module is a versatile System on Chip (SoC) that includes a TCP/IP protocol stack, enabling seamless WiFi network access for microcontrollers. It can either host applications or manage Wi-Fi networking functions for other processors.
• Pre-programmed with an AT command set, the ESP8266 allows for easy integration with Arduino devices, providing extensive WiFi capabilities similar to those of a dedicated WiFi shield. Despite its compact size, it offers robust processing and storage capabilities, facilitating smooth connections with sensors and other peripherals via GPIO pins.
• This module features high on-chip integration, requiring minimal external components, making it a cost-effective solution for various applications. Its self-calibrated RF ensures reliable performance under different operating conditions without the need for additional RF components.
• Backed by a large and active community, the ESP8266 module offers a wealth of resources and tutorials, making it a popular choice for IoT projects. Notably, this version of the ESP8266 module has an increased flash memory size, expanding from 512k to 1MB.
• Please note that the ESP8266 Module requires an external logic level converter for 5V to 3.3V logic level conversion and should not be powered directly from a 5V development board.
