AD8232 Heart Rate Monitor Kit – ECG Sensor Module for Arduino

The AD8232 Heart Rate Monitor Kit is a cost-effective ECG sensor module designed to measure the electrical activity of the heart. It captures bio-potential signals and outputs an analog signal that can be displayed as an Electrocardiogram (ECG) using a microcontroller such as Arduino.

The AD8232 IC integrates signal conditioning circuitry to extract, amplify, and filter small heart signals even in noisy environments caused by motion or remote electrode placement. Since ECG signals are typically weak and prone to interference, this module acts like a precision operational amplifier to help obtain clearer PR and QT interval readings.

The board breaks out essential pins including SDN, LO+, LO−, OUTPUT, 3.3V, and GND for easy interfacing with Arduino or other development boards. It also provides RA (Right Arm), LA (Left Arm), and RL (Right Leg) electrode connections for attaching biomedical sensor pads. A built-in LED indicator pulses in sync with the detected heartbeat.

The module includes a 3.5mm jack for biomedical pad connection and supports leads-off detection and shutdown control features.

This kit is suitable for fitness monitoring, portable ECG demonstrations, remote health care projects, biological signal acquisition, and educational or gaming applications involving heart rate sensing.
