Introduction

The Through Hole Current Sensor WCS1700 offers cost-effective and accurate solutions for both DC and AC sensing in industrial, commercial, and communication systems. Its distinctive package facilitates straightforward implementation without disrupting the original system, enabling effective current sensing. Common applications encompass motor control, load detection and management, over-current fault detection, and various intelligent power management systems, among others.

The WCS1700 features a precise linear Hall sensor IC with low-temperature drift and a temperature compensation circuit, designed with a 9.0mm diameter hole. Users can measure the current flowing through the system's electric wire by threading it through this hole. This innovative design permits system designers to monitor any current path without altering or disrupting the original system configuration. Any current that flows through this hole generates a magnetic field, which is detected by the integrated Hall IC and transformed into a proportional voltage. The conductive path's terminals are electrically isolated from the sensor leads, allowing the WCS1700 current sensor to be utilized in applications that require electrical isolation without resorting to opto-isolators or other expensive isolation methods, thereby enhancing the system's cost competitiveness.
